Spiders Take Down Twins, 2-1
|
The Cleveland Spiders had to overcome a fine performance from Minnesota pitcher Mauricio Valdivia to grab a 2-1 win at Cleveland Stadium 1980. Valdivia allowed 2 runs over 7.2 innings. Cleveland is now 24-25.
Bump Wills had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the eighth. The Cleveland second baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Cleveland in front, 2-1.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Wills.
