Texas Gets 5-4 Win
|
The Texas Rangers racked up a win at Memorial Stadium 1954, bumping off the Baltimore Orioles, 5-4. Tim Leary, who started for Texas, pitched effectively for his team. The Orioles, now 13-37, have lost 8 straight.
Kirby Puckett, the speedster , had a direct impact on the outcome. Puckett contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Texas up, 3-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Puckett.
