Straker Dominates, Whitewashes Spirits
|
It was a dismal game for the Winston-Salem Spirits with Les Straker on the hill. The Raleigh-Durham Capitals starter was in top form and made it a long day for Winston-Salem with a 5-0 shutout. He surrendered a total of 1 hit and piled up 7 strikeouts to pick up the win in a rout.
"No offense to the Spirits but that was a cakewalk today," Straker said to BNN reporters following the win.
For the year Straker has compiled a 3-3 record with a 4.15 ERA.
