Spiders Lose, 3-2, at Exhibition Stadium 1977
|
Toronto left-hander Tom Deidel helped his team edge Cleveland by the score of 3-2. Deidel kept the opposing lineup in check. Toronto reliever Max Leon was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Richard Stumpp took the loss. Toronto now has a 3-game win streak.
Chad Daley was a prime contributor to the Toronto win. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, the 29-year old designated hitter hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blue Jays.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Cleveland manager Sean Torgerson. "The effort was great."
