Ware Spins No-Hitter Against Raleigh-Durham
|
Excitement reigned at Lynchburg City Stadium today as Lynchburg Hillcats hurler Duane Ware tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Raleigh-Durham Capitals, 3-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Ware said. "Today I just went right at the Capitals as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Ware chalked up 3 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Lynchburg manager .
This year Ware has worked 115.2 innings with 54 strikeouts en route to a 6-6 record and 3.50 ERA.
