New York Mets starter Pete Redfern turned in a top-notch performance against the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium 1970. The result was a win for the Mets, 6-2. The 5th-place Mets sport a record of 24-30.

The Mets grabbed the lead in the top of the third. With no one out, Lyman Bostock, who led the NL in doubles with 46 in 1975, hit a 3-run home run off Doug Rau, putting New York in front, 5-0. For Bostock, it was his 1st home run of the season.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Redfern.
