The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Exhibition Stadium 1977, taking down the Cleveland Spiders, 3-2. Starting pitcher Thomas Linnert was a big reason why. Linnert got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. Linnert allowed 2 runs. The 4th-place Blue Jays have won 4 in a row.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, first baseman Steve Stroughter won it for Toronto. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Stroughter hit a 0-1 fastball from Joe Beckwith for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Stroughter told the Toronto Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
