Red Sox Win Thriller, 4-3
|
The Boston Red Sox faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Mike Parrott, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fenway Park 1976 by a final score of 4-3. Parrott went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Boston leads the American League East Division by 8 games.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Boston trailing 3-2, Josh Grimes hit a fastball from Manny Sarmiento to right-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Red Sox had a walk-off win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Grimes.
