Red Sox Top Yankees, 2-1, Behind Carroll
|
The Boston Red Sox got a magnificent performance from pitcher Tom M Carroll, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight 2-1 Red Sox win at Fenway Park 1976. With the win, Boston raised its record to 40-16.
Carroll, who was born in Oriskany, New York, threw 101 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing 1 run.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Carroll said.
