Chicago Gets 4-1 Win
|
Chicago Cubs starter Bert Blyleven turned in a top-notch performance against the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium 1971. The result was a win for the Cubs, 4-1. Blyleven, now 3-3, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 0, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The win gives Chicago a season record of 30-27.
