Harper Sharp in 1-0 Shutout
|
It wasn't easy but DeVallon Harper made it look that way.
Harper silenced the Wausau Timbers, 1-0, in a Cedar Rapids Cardinals triumph at Timbers Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Harper said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 5 walks and 3 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
On the year Harper has worked 31.2 innings with 20 strikeouts en route to a 2-2 record and 2.56 ERA.
