Woodard Belts 6 Hits
|
It was high-fives all around for Mike Woodard at Timbers Park today.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Wausau Timbers. Woodard smashed 6 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 12-1 win.
"Mike was hitting everything," said Foxes manager . "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Timbers manager told BNN beat writers that Woodard "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Woodard oversleeps next time."
Mike Woodard singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 72 games this season Woodard has compiled a .314 batting average with 95 hits and 1 home run. He has also scored 52 times and knocked in 19 runs.
