Blue Jays Upend Angels, 7-4
|
Chad Daley was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the California Angels. The designated hitter was 1 for 1 with 4 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Toronto Blue Jays. Tom Deidel got the win, improving to 6-4. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 6. Edward Hose notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Jose Gonzalez, the Toronto center fielder. Gonzalez had a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-2. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Gonzalez.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Blue Jays.
