Orioles Prevail, 6-4, Over Milwaukee
|
With second baseman Marty G Barrett leading the charge, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-4, at Memorial Stadium 1954. Barrett, who is rated as the 95th best prospect by BNN, was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Jim Clancy, the winning pitcher, is now 3-9. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. Baltimore has a 3-game win streak, while Milwaukee has lost 4 in a row.
Johnny Ray, who finished 3rd in the AL in doubles with 34 in 1980, aided the Baltimore cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4.
In comments to the Baltimore Bulletin, Barrett insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
