|
Cleveland and Detroit duked it out and the Spiders came out victorious.
Cleveland Spiders starter Vinny Mendoza was in fine form against the Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Stadium 1980, leading his team to a win, 4-1. The 4th-place Spiders have won 4 straight games.
Kevin Bell, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1973 draft, came through for Cleveland with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The third baseman went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Cleveland skipper Sean Torgerson.
