Cubs Whitewash Dukes, Hudson Winner
|
The Duluth-Superior Dukes ran into a buzzsaw at Memorial Park Stadium today as Huron Cubs starter Tony Hudson cut them down to size, 3-0, tossing a 7-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Cubs manager told reporters after the game. "Tony knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash, the Huron hurler doled out no walks and registered 3 strikeouts.
This season Hudson has gone 11-6 with an ERA of 3.62, posting 79 strikeouts in 159 innings.
