Mariners Best Blue Jays in Pitching Duel

Storm Davis pitched well, but his team, the Toronto Blue Jays, still dropped a 1-0 decision to the Seattle Mariners at Kingdome 1977. Randy Jones, the winning pitcher, improved to 11-12. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Nick Bowditch notched his 25th save in 35 chances.
Robin Yount drove in one run against the Blue Jays. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Seattle in front, 1-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Seattle manager John Healy. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Seattle now has a record of 91-64 with the win.
