Dominant Performance by Ortega in Minnesota Win
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Metrodome 1983, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 2-0. On the mound for Minnesota was right-hander Marcos Ortega, who played a pivotal role in the win. Stephen Fuller was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 16 save opportunities. With the win, Minnesota pushed its record to 39-28.

It was a masterful performance from the popular Ortega, who notched 12 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 3 hits. Ortega, who finished 4th in the AL in ERA with 2.56 last year, goes to 8-4 on the year with 123 strikeouts.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Ortega told the Minnesota Observer.
