The New York Mets wiggled past the Montreal Expos, 5-4, at Shea Stadium 1979. The win was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Pete Redfern. New York is now riding a 4-game win streak.

The Mets procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Lyman Bostock. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"We'll savor this win," Redfern told the New York Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
