Guzman Holds Dodgers Scoreless
|
It wasn't easy but Tony Guzman made it look that way.
Guzman silenced the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-0, in a Cincinnati Reds triumph at Riverfront Stadium 1970 today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Guzman said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 5 walks and 2 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
Season-to-date Guzman has rung up 3 wins and 6 losses in 15 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.23 and has fanned 109 batters in 110.2 innings.
