Honeycutt Lifts Yankees to Win
|
The New York Yankees got a strong performance from pitcher Rick Honeycutt, who stymied the Cleveland offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Yankee Stadium 1976. With the win, New York raised its record to 37-34.
Honeycutt, the winner, is now 6-4 after putting the clamps on the Cleveland offense. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while collecting 3 Ks.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Honeycutt said.
