Blue Jays Shut Out Twins, 4-0
|
Toronto picked up a win at Exhibition Stadium 1977, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 4-0. Pitcher Thomas Linnert was a major reason the Blue Jays emerged victorious. Linnert picked up the win for Toronto, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-6. Minnesota has now lost 4 straight.
Andres Galarraga, the first overall pick in the 1978 draft, chipped in for Toronto with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Linnert.
