Mets Earn 4-2 Road Win Over Philadelphia
|
Getting an impressive start from Rick Jones, New York beat Philadelphia by the score of 4-2. With the win over Philadelphia, the Mets improved to 37-38.
New York used the bat of Garry Maddox to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I felt good up there," said Maddox. "I saw the ball well."
