|
Behind the hitting of Garry Maddox, the New York Mets stopped the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-4. Maddox was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Mets. New York goes to 4-4.
Maddox had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Mets went on to win.
