Braves Lose to Reds, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Riverfront Stadium 1970, taking down the Atlanta Braves, 3-2. Starting pitcher Steve Brown was a big reason why. In 7 innings, Brown surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Reds sit at 43-29.
Cincinnati shortstop Jesus Alfaro contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 46th hit of the season and put the Reds ahead, 3-2.
Alfaro told a Cincinnati Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
