Reds Prevail, 3-1, Over San Diego
|
Cincinnati Reds starter Larry Dierker pitched his team past the San Diego Padres, 3-1. Cincinnati now has a record of 94-64 with the win.
Cincinnati used the clutch hitting of Nick Deurloo to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Tough loss," said San Diego manager Chris Stephan. "But we'll learn from it."
