Phillies Down Cardinals, 4-3
|
Philadelphia rode a decent outing from starter Bill Singer to victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. The final score was 4-3. The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 42-36.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Philadelphia second baseman Paul Molitor, facing Lary Sorensen, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Phillies the 4-3 win.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Singer.
