Padres Luis Gutierrez Down and Out for Year Friday, August 13th, 1982 The season is apparently over for Luis Gutierrez. The San Diego Padres medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 6 months with a torn rotator cuff. Gutierrez was hurt in the game against Atlanta while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season. This year Gutierrez has fanned 66 in 75.1 innings and collected a 0-3 record with a 7.05 ERA. |
