Jaster Hurls 5-0 Shutout
Monday, August 23rd, 1982
Before the game, Danny Jaster said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium 1974, the Braves pitcher whitewashed the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Jaster said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Atlanta starter held Philadelphia scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 4 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Phillies manager Arlo Zimmerman said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
So far this year Jaster has compiled a 3-2 record with a 3.88 ERA.
