Rhoden Sparkles in 2-0 Whitewash of Pittsburgh Friday, September 3rd, 1982 In an outstanding mound performance, Los Angeles Dodgers starter Rick Rhoden fired a complete-game shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium 1962 today. Rhoden was the key to the Dodgers's 2-0 win. The 29-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and 1 walk he allowed. "3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." In 29 starts this season Rhoden has notched a 13-11 record and a 3.06 ERA.
