Texas Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Sunday, September 5th, 1982 It has been a woeful season for the Texas Rangers and now they have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. "You always need some things to break your way to get into the playoffs," said manager Zach Redpath. "And nothing broke our way this year." Texas last appeared in the postseason in 1975. This is their 7th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 19 times in their 21-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Rangers have missed the playoffs 8 times. |
