Redfern Pitches Mets to 1-0 Win
Tuesday, September 14th, 1982
Pete Redfern was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He led the New York Mets to victory 1-0, blanking the Montreal Expos on 4 hits. He had no walks and 11 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," Montreal skipper Rich Callaghan told reporters after the shutout loss. "He just had a real deceptive fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
In the current season in 26 starts, Pete Redfern has a record of 12-7 with 123 strikeouts in 172.1 innings and a 2.56 ERA.
