Scott Pitches 2-0 Shutout for Los Angeles

Mike Scott of the Los Angeles Dodgers shut out the San Diego Padres 2-0 at Dodger Stadium 1962 today, holding them to 1 hit with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, San Diego skipper Chris Stephan called the outing from Scott "a jewel."
"The way Scott was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
To date this season Scott sports a 19-4 mark with a 2.86 ERA in 30 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .222 batting average and has 202 strikeouts in 242 innings.
