Lezcano Sticks it to NL Pitchers
Monday, September 20th, 1982
At the age of 28, Sixto Lezcano might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The St. Louis third baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .440 batting average. For his efforts Lezcano collected the National League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 6 games.
Presently Lezcano is hitting .291 with 24 home runs and 93 RBIs. He has played in 145 games and scored 87 times.
