September's Best Batter Announced Friday, October 1st, 1982 Clayton Elliott put his mark on the American League this September by putting together some award-winning numbers. Cleveland's first baseman took home the Batter of the Month award on the strength of his .309 batting average. He tacked up 29 hits, 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 16 runs scored. In 159 games this season Elliott has compiled a .246 batting average with 138 hits and 36 home runs. He has also scored 97 times and knocked in 99 runs. |
