DeLeon Voted September's Top Rookie Friday, October 1st, 1982 For a young man just making his way into the American League, Jose DeLeon has shown incredible poise and confidence over the past month, netting him the coveted Rookie of the Month Award. In September he fashioned a 4-0 mark and a 2.96 ERA. The Cleveland starter struck out 36 in 45.2 innings as he walked 13 and held opposing batters to a .234 average. This season DeLeon has compiled a 16-8 mark with a 3.43 ERA. |
