Phillies Come up Short of Playoffs Friday, October 1st, 1982 Larry McWilliams said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the Philadelphia Phillies after they missed the X Factor Baseball League playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today. The Phillies have missed the playoffs 98 times in their 100 years as a X Factor Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 32nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1949. |
