Rivera at His Best, Whips 89ers Tuesday, August 31st, 1982 The Denver Bears rolled to an easy 6-0 win over the Oklahoma City 89ers at All Sports Stadium today. Leading the way to victory was starter Jorge Rivera, who shackled the Oklahoma City 89ers and held them scoreless on a 6-hitter. "This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Rivera said in his postgame press conference.
