Buchanan Stops Denver Sunday, September 5th, 1982 It wasn't easy but the Tulsa Drillers made it look that way. Starter Bob Buchanan shut out the Denver Bears despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Tulsa Drillers cruised to victory, 14-0. Buchanan allowed only 5 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year Buchanan has compiled a 11-7 record with a 2.42 ERA. View Boxscore |
