Pladson Grabs AA Reliever of the Year Award
Friday, October 1st, 1982
Gordie Pladson said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 26 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Evansville Triplets rising star has won the American Association Reliever of the Year Award for 1982.

He captured the award on the strength of his 1.02 ERA over 70.2 innings. He also had 13 saves in 55 relief appearances, 32 strikeouts and only 12 walks.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Randy Niemann of the Evansville Triplets finished second in voting, while Lee Guetterman of the Indianapolis Indians finished third.

Player - Team - First Place - Total Points
Gordie Pladson - Evansville Triplets - 8 - 40
