Top Defensive Players Named by IL Monday, September 27th, 1982 Defense is a critical element in the game of baseball. Many times late in the game, a light-hitting defensive specialist will be inserted in place of a superstar hitter. Good defenders are worth their weight in gold and today the best of them for 1982 have been recognized.
