Adams 5-for-5 for Blue Jays
Saturday, August 21st, 1982
It was a parade of hits for Jason Adams of the Knoxville Blue Jays at Knoxville Stadium today.
Connecting with regularity, Adams finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but the Bears rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 7-6 win.
"Adams was really good, we were just a little better," said Bears manager in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, as long as we win."
Jason Adams singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This year Adams has socked 105 hits in 326 at-bats for a .322 average with 10 home runs. He is getting on base at a .385 pace and his totals also include 65 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
