Suns Whitewash Blue Jays, Hartery Winner Friday, August 27th, 1982 In an outstanding mound performance, Jacksonville Suns starter Stephen Hartery fired a complete-game shutout against the Knoxville Blue Jays at Knoxville Stadium today. Hartery was the key to the Suns's 2-0 win. The 26-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 1 hit and 5 walks he allowed. "1 hit?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." On the season Hartery has delivered 0 saves in 6 relief appearances.
