DiPino Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Asheville Monday, September 6th, 1982 Frank DiPino of the Savannah Indians shut out the Asheville Tourists 10-0 at McCormick Field today, holding them to 1 hit with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Asheville skipper called the outing from DiPino "a jewel." "The way DiPino was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
