Birmingham's Moore Sidelined for Season Wednesday, September 8th, 1982 Mark Moore of the Barons just might have to call it quits for the season. The 26-year-old Birmingham closer received a possible season-ending injury against the Knoxville Blue Jays recently at Rickwood Field. Moore suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch. The Barons medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 7 months. Thus far this season Moore has registered 37 relief appearances, worked 38 innings, struck out 39 and issued 19 walks. He has 14 saves with a 3.55 ERA and a 4-6 won-lost mark. |
