2-Game Suspension for Cotes
Friday, September 17th, 1982
Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Rebels third baseman Eugeniuo Cotes was suspended 2 games by the league. Cotes had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Knoxville at Paterson Field.

Cotes could not be reached for comment on the suspension.
