Puleo Spins 11-0 Shutout Tuesday, June 29th, 1982 Charlie Puleo hurled a fine game for the El Paso Sun Kings at Dudley Field today, holding the Shreveport Braves to 5 hits in a shutout win. "When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," El Paso manager said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is." The right-hander had 1 strikeout and 1 walk in the 11-0 victory. "An outstanding job," Shreveport manager said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game." Puleo has gone 4-5 this season with an ERA of 3.89 and 56 strikeouts in 76.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .215 against him. View Boxscore |
