One Run Enough for San Jose

Tom Browning put a hex on the Stockton Mariners in a sparkling 1-0 shutout performance, mesmerizing them on a 3-hit gem.
"I felt good physically," he said after the game. "Everything's comfortable. You should pitch well when that's the case."
The Mariners were anything but comfortable against the 22-year-old San Jose Bees hurler, who fanned 8 and gave up 1 walks.
"Browning used his changeup very well, very effectively," said opposing manager . "He threw it in hitter's counts."
So far this season, Browning has logged a 3-2 record with a 1.47 ERA. He has started 5 games, hurled 49 innings and registered 25 strikeouts and 11 walks.
