Hocutt Bombs 3 HR Against Bakersfield Saturday, July 17th, 1982 Mike Hocutt was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 7-6 Reno Silver Sox triumph at Moana Stadium today. The 20-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Silver Sox past the Bakersfield Bears. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Hocutt told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The first baseman went 3-for-3, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Mike Hocutt hit a solo-shot off Steve Walker in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Steve Walker in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Bradley Barclay in the 11th. Hocutt on the season is batting .307 with 19 home runs. His totals include 62 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has played in 76 games. |
