Franco Holds Silver Sox Scoreless Friday, August 20th, 1982 The Lodi Crushers did little to support starter John Franco against the Reno Silver Sox, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Silver Sox, striking out 5 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Franco allowed Lodi to escape with the 1-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'John, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Franco told BNN reporters following the win.
